About Weiwei Du
Du Weiwei is Head of MEA at Tongwei Solar, responsible for market expansion, partner engagement, and project collaboration across the Middle East and Africa.
She graduated from Monash University, Australia. With nearly 10 years of experience at Tongwei, she has worked across overseas solar cell and module businesses.
With extensive experience in the photovoltaic industry, she works closely with regional developers, EPCs, and key stakeholders to support the deployment of high-efficiency solar solutions. She is committed to strengthening long-term cooperation in the MEA market and advancing reliable and sustainable energy development.
As developers increasingly prioritize supply stability, how is Tongwei addressing this requirement through its manufacturing strategy?
As project scale continues to expand, supply stability has become a key consideration for developers, particularly in long-cycle and capital-intensive markets such as the Middle East. Tongwei addresses this requirement through a vertically integrated supply chain that spans high-purity polysilicon, high-efficiency solar cells and modules.
By maintaining strong internal coordination across the entire value chain, Tongwei is able to plan capacity in a more systematic and predictable manner, reducing exposure to external supply disruptions. Large-scale manufacturing, standardized processes and long-term capacity planning enable us to provide developers with clearer delivery schedules and more consistent product availability.
This manufacturing strategy allows Tongwei to support utility-scale and commercial projects with greater certainty, helping developers manage project timelines and investment risks more effectively.
Which aspects of your manufacturing scale or production capabilities attracted the most attention at your stand this year?
At WFES this year, many visitors showed strong interest in Tongwei’s manufacturing scale and the clarity of its integrated supply chain, which was clearly presented at our stand. By showcasing the full manufacturing pathway—from upstream materials through solar cells to high-efficiency modules—we were able to demonstrate how supply stability is achieved in practice.
In addition to the integrated supply chain, our latest TNC 3.0 product generation attracted significant attention. Visitors were particularly interested in how this new generation of modules reflects continuous technological advancement while remaining closely aligned with large-scale, reliable manufacturing.
Together, the integrated supply chain and the TNC 3.0 products illustrated Tongwei’s ability to combine advanced technology with dependable production capacity, which resonated strongly with developers and EPC partners in the Middle East market.
How important has transparent communication around manufacturing capacity become for the developers you met at WFES?
Transparent communication around manufacturing capacity has become increasingly important for developers, especially in markets where projects are large and investment decisions depend on long-term certainty. Many developers we met at WFES highlighted the need for clear and realistic information regarding manufacturing capacity and supply planning.
Developers are no longer focused solely on nominal capacity figures, but on how an integrated supply chain supports reliable delivery across different project stages. Clear communication around this structure helps developers better understand supply risks and timelines.
For Tongwei, transparency is an essential part of building trust. By clearly communicating how our integrated supply chain operates, we aim to support informed decision-making and stronger investment confidence.
What next steps are emerging following these discussions with regional stakeholders?
Following discussions at WFES, several next steps are emerging with regional stakeholders. Many conversations have progressed from general introductions to more detailed discussions around project requirements, supply planning and delivery coordination.
In particular, stakeholders are increasingly interested in how Tongwei’s integrated supply chain can be aligned with regional project timelines and long-term energy strategies. Some discussions are moving toward structured cooperation frameworks, reflecting a shared focus on supply certainty and long-term collaboration.
These follow-ups indicate a transition from initial engagement to deeper, more practical cooperation in the Middle East market.
Open question, is there something you want to add?
The Middle East is playing an increasingly important role in the global energy transition, and solar energy is becoming a core component of long-term regional development strategies. Against this backdrop, Tongwei continues to advance its technology roadmap while strengthening supply certainty through an integrated supply chain.
Our latest TNC 3.0 products represent the next step in this journey. They are designed not only to deliver higher efficiency, but also to be fully aligned with large-scale manufacturing and long-term project operation. By combining advanced module technology with stable production capability, Tongwei aims to support developers with solutions that are both future-ready and reliable.
We look forward to working closely with regional partners to deploy TNC 3.0 products across the Middle East and contribute to sustainable energy development in the years ahead.
