Empowering Women to Take Leading Roles in the Energy Transition

Leading women in renewable energy share their thoughts on how to encourage  more women to take leading roles in renewable energy businesses and  institutions.

13:20 to 14:20 (GST)

Circular Economy: The Promise of Sustainable Growth

Traditional economic models which rely on extracting, manufacturing,  utilising, and disposal are being gradually replaced with less wasteful  production models. Join this session to find out the initiatives that promise to  make the economy much more sustainable by dramatically reducing waste.

14:25 – 15:30 (GST)

Energy Efficiency: Plans and perspectives for the future

Energy efficiency is the only way to properly use the energy resources our  society needs to function without depleting the planet, it is a measure that  should be implemented in all companies and countries. In this session we will

hear from the heads of several multinationals about their future plans to  reduce their energy use.

15:35 – 16:35 (GST)

Renewable Hydrogen: A Catalyst for Rapid Decarbonisation

Learn about the latest on renewable hydrogen production and storage as well  as potential uses to enable a rapid and more complete decarbonisation of  different sectors of the economy.

DAY II – Wednesday, 6 Oct

SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

11:00 – 12:00 (GST)

The role of Smart Cities in achieving deep decarbonization

Advanced telecommunications technologies, artificial intelligence and  digitalisation are coming together to make cities more sustainable whilst  providing better services for its citizens. Join this session to find out how these  cutting-edge technologies are converging in Dubai.

12:05 – 12:45 (GST)

Building Retrofitting: how to gain energy efficiency

Round table

Achieving energy efficiency through building retrofitting is a reality that not  only reduces energy and water use, but also reduces long-term costs, improves  the productivity and durability of buildings, and creates indoor environmental  quality. The World Green Building Council aims to achieve net zero carbon by  2050.

12:50 – 13:50 (GST)

Sustainable transport through more energy-efficient and environmentally  friendly practices

Achieving carbon neutrality in a fossil fuel dependent world is possible thanks  to other sustainable and decarbonised mobility options.

13:55 – 15:00 (GST)

Digitalization applied to decarbonisation: Artificial intelligence, machine  learning

Big data and artificial intelligence have been key in the advances to manage  climate change and create more efficient products. In this session we will  discuss their potential on the road to achieving net zero carbon.

15:05 – 16:00 (GST)

Advanced Cooling Systems: saving on energy and upping sustainability

Achieving energy efficiency with efficient cooling systems can avoid tons of  greenhouse gas emissions.

DAY III – Thursday, 7 Oct

THE STATE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN THE MIDDLE EAST

11:00 – 12:10 (GST)

The Present and Future of Solar Energy in the Middle East

In this session, leading solar executives in the Middle East share their views on  whether the solar industry costs can continue decreasing, the impact of the  pandemic and role of the solar industry in powering economic recovery in the  new normal.
