Please describe your role at Jubaili Bros and your expertise in the sector.

In January 2021, I was appointed as Group CEO for Jubaili Bros with the mission to work with and support the organization on its exciting transformation journey - not only in terms of establishing new renewable products and services we are offering to our customers today and in the future, but also by creating a group-wide growth platform with strong organizational capabilities we can build on for decades to come. This transition into Jubaili Bros was a perfect continuation of my career journey from my previous life as Vice President and General Manager for the Gulf Region at Johnson Controls, where I was intimately involved in the establishment and expansion of Johnson Controls’ Energy Service Business (ESCO) in the Middle East. This business unit had focused more on the demand optimization side of the energy equation. In particular, for large district cooling concepts, demand monitoring, control, and prediction were equally important as the line-up of demand and supply needs for energy consumption in buildings. For a large majority of our landmark projects we had completed, solar PV was always a key consideration to enhance the overall energy requirements balance while decreasing the total CO2 footprint of the customer’s building assets.

How did your story in renewables begin and, in your opinion, how much has it changed since then, if at all?

In 2017, Jubaili Bros had established a dedicated renewable organization under an entity formation named JB Solar. While initially concentrating our efforts on technical support and distribution of one key partner’s product, this business has grown exponentially ever since, not only by expanding our technology partnership network to the "who is who" in this industry but also by offering our customers a total power solution offering a wide spectrum of traditional and renewable power products and services. With a wide range of power solutions from Diesel, Gas over PV-Diesel, Hybrid- and Microgrids, Jubaili Bros nowadays addresses the whole spectrum to find the optimal answer to our customers' load profile needs, accompanied by a strong local presence on the ground to ensure full life cycle support.

Can you tell us about your most advanced sector (solution/ service) and what sets you apart from other competitors?

Our largest unique value proposition is our team of 1500 power experts, who serve more than 10,000 customers in 11 countries every day. You have a power challenge in your country. We are here to solve it for you with the utmost care and focus on cost efficiency and flawless execution. There are few players in this industry who can flex between traditional power generation technology and renewables so smoothly, always finding the most reliable answer to your power needs. Scale does matter and serving our global customer base out of three strategic manufacturing locations made us regional, but with a global mindset.

What's a recent milestone Jubaili Bros has achieved that you would like to share with us?

We just recently crossed a major milestone in our history by providing 20 Gigawatts of power solutions to our global customer base. Something we are all very proud of, and we owe this success to our customers, who do trust and believe in us every day, but all of this would not have been possible without our strategic technology partners we are working with – some of them since the inception of the company.

What are your expectations for the MENA region in terms of growth and new opportunities for Jubaili Bros?

The MENA region has always been a major growth engine for the world – particularly Africa. With economic growth comes the need for power, and here is where we are playing to our absolute strength. Being strategically positioned in those emerging markets offers perfect growth opportunities to all our people and partners. It is worth mentioning that half of our total employee population resides across Africa, which was a strategic decision that the owners of the company took many years ago – and as history shows today, rightly so. So please stay close to hear more good news and success stories about how the Jubaili Bros’ team is enhancing our services to our customers and supporting our partners to grow with us hand in hand.
