Dubai, November 27, 2024 – The Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) hosted a successful Business Breakfast at the Pullman Hotel Downtown, Dubai, bringing together industry leaders to explore advancements in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) applications in the Middle East.

The event highlighted the potential of BESS to enhance energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and stabilize energy grids. Experts shared insights into cutting-edge technologies, financial benefits, and policy frameworks driving adoption.

Shaping the Future of Energy Storage 

Marcelle Combrink, MESIA’s International Development Board Member, opened the session by highlighting the pivotal role of BESS in revolutionizing energy management for commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors. “Storage is not just a technology; it is a business enabler transforming how we approach energy,” he remarked, as he detailed how BESS solutions can reduce operational costs, stabilize power grids, and ensure reliable backup power.

Evan Zhao, MEA ESS Solution Manager at Sungrow, showcased innovative technologies, emphasizing that advanced control systems and seamless grid integration are reshaping energy utilization across the region.”.

Feras Shadid, General Manager at Enerwhere, highlighted financial benefits, stating, “Hybrid energy systems combining solar, diesel, and storage deliver not only environmental benefits but also financial viability through significant cost savings and strong ROI.”

A panel discussion, moderated by Sebastiano Mario Onnis of ILF Consulting Engineers, brought together leading voices to discuss policy, manufacturing, and technological advancements:
