"Energy Equity" & Paves the Way for Africa’s Prosperous Future

Cape Town, South Africa, June 17–20 – AEF2025 Grand Opening

The AEF2025 brought together senior energy officials from across Africa, top global financiers, and independent renewable energy developers to discuss the continent’s renewable energy development. Mr. Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi, led the team in attendance.

During the forum, Mr. She shared insights in an exclusive interview, analyzing the strategic value of solar energy for Africa’s sustainable development from both technological and humanitarian perspectives. His remarks addressed the core challenges of Africa’s energy transition, highlighting how "PV + storage" can achieve the lowest levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and how "energy equity" based on solar fairness will serve as a green engine for Africa’s economic rise.

Technological Breakthrough: BC Efficiency Revolution, Lowering LCOE

At this forum, LONGi showcased its flagship product featuring HIBC cell technology: LONGi's BC technology, with a conversion efficiency exceeding 27.81% and ultimate reliability, meets the harsh environmental challenges in Africa such as high temperatures and sandstorms.

Hi-MO 9: The new benchmark for utility-scale plants, redefining LCOE standards. With ultra-high power and a low temperature coefficient, it enables optimized system design, delivering up to 8.5% higher energy yield in demonstrated conditions for superior long-term returns.

Hi-MO X10: The high-value panel preferred for distributed scenarios have achieved a new peak in power generation per unit area. The anti-dust accumulation panel type exhibited on-site delivers a long-term outdoor power generation gain of up to 6.08%, reducing cleaning by at least 4 times annually. CPVT shows a monthly maximum power generation gain of 5.4%.

LONGi in Action: Promoting Energy Equity Through Technology Innovation & Collaboration

Photovoltaic (PV) power generation, characterized by its strong energy independence and short construction cycles, provides an ideal solution for remote mining operations to rapidly phase out diesel generators—achieving a dual win in "zero-carbon operations" and cost efficiency.

LONGi delivers tailored high-efficiency BC products for Africa's environment, complemented by localized services, to create an integrated "PV + Storage + Microgrid + Scenario-based " solution. By addressing multi-scenario needs—including mine-site electrification, rural power supply, and agrivoltaics—the company establishes a green energy ecosystem, accelerates project implementation, and advances sustainable power solutions for Africa's mining sector.

Deep Roots in Africa: 3GW Milestone & Commitment

Through years of dedication, LONGi has contributed to strategic PV projects across 38 African countries, supplying over 3GW of high-efficiency products for completed and ongoing installations.

Moving forward, LONGi remains committed to turning every ray of African sunlight into momentum for development—advancing regional energy equity.
