I have been part of the clean energy transition in MENA since 2009. At KAUST, I started the first outdoor test field for solar technologies in the region. After that, I was VP for Business Development at First Solar, looking after a vertically integrated business operation. During my stint at First Solar, I served as board member at MESIA supporting the growing solar industry in the GCC and the region. Between 2018 and 2020, I was the Managing Director at the Clean Energy Business Council in Dubai, helping private sector engagement with the government and supporting the clean tech industry.

Bikesh Ogra is the Promoter, Managing Director and CEO of Jakson Green, a new energy transition platform backed by India headquartered Infrastructure and Renewables major – Jakson Group. With over 28 years of experience in the energy and construction space, he has been instrumental in getting the firm over ₹5,000Cr (US$600Mn) of global renewable and green hydrogen EPC order book, besides acquisition of nearly 1000MW of renewable assets under greenfield development as an IPP with a vision to own and operate 5GW renewable assets and 100,000 MTPA green hydrogen assets by 2027.

Bikesh’s entrepreneurial acumen has helped facilitate and build from inception, a global best-in-class engineering and construction business spanning Indian and International markets. As global CEO and member of the executive board at Sterling Wilson Renewable Energy Private Limited, he provided visionary leadership for turnkey EPC services for renewable power producers across 5 continents, helping them build over 11,000MW of solar power plants while also creating an enviable operations and maintenance fleet of over 8700MW globally.

Under Bikesh’s leadership, Sterling Wilson’s solar business scaled from India to over 26 nations worldwide within 6 years of inception, turning it into the world’s largest Solar EPC in 2019. His entrepreneurial spirit & achievements were recognized time and again on many global platforms as he received the Green Entrepreneur of the year award by Entrepreneur India in 2018 and the Solar Entrepreneur of the year award by the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA), United Arab Emirates in 2017.

Besides building and scaling world class infrastructure businesses, Bikesh is a great mentor and likes to build a sense of ownership in management teams who in turn get self-driven in the pursuit excellence. Bikesh works closely with start-ups and new ventures and helps provide strategic foresights, invests time and effort in new and upcoming technologies.

On the personal front Bikesh follows a strict fitness regime for a healthier mind & body. He has recently started pursuing Yoga and meditation. Bikesh is an avid trekker and is associated with many Philanthropic causes. He is also an ardent cricket lover and has off late developed a fondness for Golf.

It is also essential for me to provide opportunities to the younger workforce, and supporting education initiatives and programs meant to equip the youth with the right skills.
