Associate Programme Officer at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
Giedre is an Associate Programme Officer at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). She leads working groups on community energy and sustainable energy jobs within the IRENA’s Coalition for Action. The Coalition for Action is an international network that convenes a global dialogue amongst non-governmental and governmental stakeholders to develop actions to increasing the share of renewables in the global energy mix.
Giedre has over seven years of experience in energy policy, decarbonisation and sustainability across the public and private sectors. Prior to joining IRENA, Giedre worked for the UK energy regulator developing policies on the energy transition, fairness and affordability including award-winning interventions using behavioural insights. Her academic credentials include a master’s degree in Sustainable Development from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and KU Leuven Universities among others.
