Dr Jamila Juma Al Maazmi

Dr Jamila Juma Al Maazmi, Manger - Projects Management Standard & Compliance, at Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) (PJSC), United Arab  Emirates (UAE). She had gained an excellence career path during working in DEWA, which acquired her from station to station, due to her serious goals, skills,  knowledge, experience and personal characteristics that have been gained during her journey in DEWA till reaching the current position. Dr Al Maazmi is a  self-managed and results-oriented manager with more than 23 years of experience in the fields of strategy management, performance management, project  management, asset management, crisis & business continuity plans, enterprise risk management system, quality management, Dubai government excellence  system, corporate governance, innovation and sustainability, and maintenance for Low Voltage cables. 

Dr Al Maazmi graduated from United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2001; she then obtained her  Master’s degree in Mechatronics from American University of Sharjah in 2007; finally, she gained her PhD in Project Management from The British University  in Dubai in 2020. She also undertook the Diploma in Women’s Leadership offered by the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government in 2011. She is a  Certified international Trainer Program/Train the Trainer – Syndicate of Applicators Training Center (AUTM) and IRCA (The International Register of  Certificated Auditors) Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System In addition to other ISO accreditations related to Risk Management and Asset  Management, Professional Scrum Master I PSM I, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, and as EFQM Assessor. 

She is a member of many international institutes including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE (USA), Project Management Institute PMI (USA), Society of Engineers UAE (SOEUAE), Dubai Businesswomen Council, Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, EFQM (European Foundation for Quality  Management) – Belgium, and AIQOM (Artificial Intelligence). In addition, she was one of the founders of the DEWA Women’s Committee from 2010 to 2014,  which contributed to laying the foundations and objectives of the committee and achieving many of its goals, the most important of which has been highlighting  the need to empower women in all entrepreneurial and professional fields.  

She has successfully distinguished herself in her performance among her peers by winning many local and international awards, including 1st place in the  DEWA Excellence awards as a Distinguished Specialised Employee Award in year 2020 & a Distinguished Female Award in year 2010, winning a silver award  in the International Award (Ideas America) in 2021 for the best programme administrator of the year, winning DEWA Star for Project Puls initiative in 2022,  winning the Most Dynamic Woman Engineer Leader from Berkeley & MS middle east voice of Global Women in 2023, and winning a 2nd place of DEWA  knowledge sharing program award in 2023. 

She has published widely and has participated in many international conferences for the field of Agile, innovation, strategy in project management. She is an  active member in Sharjah’s volunteer centre for community cohesion, and keenly participates in many voluntary events. 

Dr Al Maazmi is always looking to provide valued additions to her company towards achieving its corporate goals and at the same time find opportunities to  apply the knowledge and skills she has acquired as this contributes to being part of a team that works dynamically for the growth and success of the organisation
